Spirit Lake Parks & Recreation

Regular Meeting

March 30, 2011

6:00 PM. City Hall

Chairman Marc Kroetch opened the meeting for Parks & Recreation at 6:05 pm.  Present were members Mike Clary, Shelly Nave, Terry Devore, Kevin Miller and Kim Harlow.  Michelle Kelly was absent.  Mayor Todd Clary and his wife Connie also attended the meeting.

Linda Harder, North Idaho Tobacco Free Coalition, gave a power point presentation in hopes that the city may adopt an ordinance placing a ban on the use of all tobacco products in our city parks.

Terry Devore motioned to approve minutes from February with a 2^nd from Shelly Nave and a vote of aye by all.

Kim introduced the new Activities Director, Heather Riney.  She was welcomed by all. 

Marc, and the board briefly discussed the direction of Park & Rec, as well as the Rec Center.  Some of the activities that the board would like to move forward with are swimming lessons, a fishing derby and flag football in the fall.  We will try to get a calendar of events ready for the Chamber directory.

Volunteer Park ~ The Board will hold a workshop/meeting on Wednesday, April 6^th  6:00 pm at City Hall, to view preliminary plans and get started on a construction plan of events.

Kim motioned to close the meeting at 7:30 with a 2^nd from Marc and a vote of aye by all.
